Douglas Colt: Pro Bono Work and the Dangers of Smoking

0

Lawyer Douglas Colt does his fair share of pro-bono work. Like many other lawyers, he tends to choose cases about which he feels strongly. In Douglas Colt’s case, you’re likely to see a pattern of advocacy towards non-smoking.

From 2000 to 2002, Douglas Colt worked pro-bono for the American Lung Association. His diligent and tireless efforts on behalf of that organization earned him an award of commendation in 2002. Prior to that, he also performed pro-bono work as post production coordinator for the documentary, “Scene Smoking:  Cigarettes, Cinema, & the Myth of Cool.” Douglas Colt received his first Hollywood credit in that movie which featured Ted Danson, Sean Penn, Michael Crichton, Richard Donner, Jack Klugman, and Stephen Nemeth.

His convictions about the dangers of smoking should come as no surprise to those who know him. He remains a very active sportsman who counts weight-lifting, mountain-biking, and skiing among his favorite pastimes.
